I have already had 6 classes and haven't written a word about them! At least I'm not slacking on the exercise.
I am learning the pose method of running. It uses gravity instead of pushing against it and wasting energy. It's easy on my joints and means no more shin splints. However, it's taking some getting used to and muscle training to make sure I don't revert back to crappy running. Also, I really need to work on my coordination and balance. I'm learning, but it is frustrating. I feel embarrassed at times because I am the heaviest person and the worst runner in the class and I get winded easily. But then I remind myself that I AM doing something about it and it won't happen overnight. I keep at it.
I am so glad that the class is set 3 times a week and I am motivated to go. I want results. I need to do more.

Day 1
Today I start a running clinic. I'm pretty excited. Not only will it teach me how to run safely, but it will hold me accountable by making me attend the class and run at least 3 times weekly. I hope to be not only an improved runner by the end of the class, but also have an enjoyment for it.
I will update tomorrow with my thoughts on the first class!

Hello!
Like a lot of women, I have always struggled with maintaining a healthy weight. I am embarking on lifestyle changes to make myself more fit and look good naked.
First up, I want to learn to be a good runner. I am not fond of running, but I want to be. It can be done anywhere, and is the foundation to other physical activities, such as sports. Plus, I can push my toddler in a jogging stroller, and later, he can ride his bike along with me, thus promoting family fitness. I am hoping to learn about proper stretching, warming up, running form, and cooling down so that I can do it safely and without injury.
I will be writing to chart my progress and motivate myself!
